Festival – Vice President

The Vice President acts as Festival Coordinator. The Festival Coordinator keeps the two festival file boxes intact, organized and ready to use. One box contains all files pertaining to preparation of festival, current syllabus, and folders for organizing the sessions. The other box contains all the extra certificates, seals, embossers, envelopes, registration cards, and other office supplies necessary for festival weekend.

The Festival Committees will be required to keep the Vice President abreast of work being done, changes being made, costs, income, any questions or concerns, etc. Also, the outgoing Vice President will help the incoming Vice President understnad the job responsibilities and to help him/her get set up for delegating jobs, etc.

Duties of the Vice President:

  • Starts the “wheels” of Festival turning, and keeps it running smoothly.
  • Delegates the jobs and responsibilities and keeps tabs on the preparation process.
  • Sets up the Proctor / Adjudication Workshop for Lower Level Festival in late January or in February.
  • Should be a part of the Scheduling Committee and should be aware of the information at set-up of filing for festival from the Folder Set-Up Committee.
  • Is committed to work during the Festival weekends, and to be present (if possible) at the Command Performances.
  • Should keep in contact with the Treasurer, keeping abreast fo costs and income of Festival, and sending out any thank you cards and checks to hired judges.
  • Will arrange a session with the involved festival teachers to evaluate the event, to discuss any difficulties that occurred during the festival or command performance recitals, and to brainstorm any solutions or work out problems.
